The Vrátna resort is located in the Krivan part of the Mala Fatra Mountains. The whole area is interspersed with numerous marked hiking trails in beautiful countryside, which will delight families with children and demanding hikers. You will find routes for easier walks to hikes for ridge enthusiasts and more difficult routes with chains and ladders. Beautiful valleys, amazing views, streams and waterfalls await you. The varied flora and fauna is also charming, of which many species are protected and some plants and flowers are found only in this area.
The highest peak is Veľký Kriváň (1709 m. n. m.), popular are Jánošík’s holes and the well-known beauties – Veľký and Malý Rozsutec. The Veľký Rozsutec peak is also located in the logo of the Malá Fatra National Park. The territory of Vrátna is bordered by the wreath of peaks Boboty, Veľký Rozsutec, Stoh, Poludňový grúň, Chleb, Veľký Kriváň, Kraviarske, Baraniarky and Sokolie.
Vrátna is divided into two other valleys, Stará dolina and Nová dolina, which are separated by Grúň (989 m). Especially impressive is the narrow entrance canyon of Tiesňava with several waterfalls created by the Varínka river, which rises at the end of the valley. The dolomite rocks form interesting formations called Rock Town, Monk, Camel, Five Furmans.
On MONDAY, January 19 - January 21, ski races will take place on the INTERKRITERIUM VRÁTNA. For this reason, the Slovan slope will be closed to the public.
Skiing will be redirected to the Ypsilon slope during these days.
